Grace proudly mentioned that she was an actress by profession and become a social activist by choice as well as become a media person by chance.

Grace graduated from Institute of Economics, Yangon in 1977. She continued to study for Diploma Accountancy, Registered Law and diploma in French from Alliance Francaise, Yangon in 1989. In 2002, she won media fellowship to participate to Media Leadership program, jointly designed by Population Communication International/NYC and University of Southern California/LA, USA. She obtained Supreme Diploma in Abhidhamma from Int'l Institute of Abbhidhamma, Yangon in 2008.

Grace was actively involved in the creative content industry in Myanmar from 1971 to 1991, in the making over 200 films as an actress. Since early 90s, she worked as a producer and director for over 100 local digital movies. Her company "Communication Services Group Co. Ltd" handles developing concept, script, storyboard, production design, finance schedule, on set management, producing, editing & post production, obtaining approvals and broadcasting for local and international contents since 2000.

Grace was one of the pioneers to conduct various mass media campaign subject to social issues like HIV, TB, Hygiene, Human trafficking, IP etc by performing as a liaison between the local government, departments, corporations and the management team to pursue, formulate and explore various entry.

Experienced as participant and facilitator to organize a number of workshops, seminars, forums, conference regards film & TV production, copyright and media in Myanmar and in abroad, Grace performed as Speaker, Moderator and Jury for various film festivals in country and abroad.

Some accolades:

  • In 1977Grace won the national Academy award for her best performance.

  • In 2002 she won the best visual effect award at the student film festival of "Summer School Workshop" in University of California.

  • In 2007 she was awarded as "Ambassador for Peace" by Universal Peace Federation in New York.

  • In September2013, she was awarded as an "Outstanding Person" for her lifelong contribution to the community by Burmese Youth Association in San Francisco.

  • In April 2014, she was awarded as “Person of the Year/WIPO Day 2014” by EU Myanmar Center & ACE Law Firm for her dedication regards intellectual property issues in Myanmar for 3 decades.

  • In November 2014, she was a focal person to organize ASEAN Film leaders Incubator workshop “FLY 2014” Busan Film Commission and Ministry of information by the supported of ASEAN Secretariat desk.

  • In May 2015, she was a focal person to coordinate “Memory Film Festival 2015” in collaborating within International Festival Director Team and local authority, Ministry of Information and community, Myanmar Motion Picture Organization.

  • In Oct 2015, she was awarded for “The Best Mentor Award” by Singapore Myanmar Film Festival 2015”

Peck Kem is responsible for professionalising human resources in the public sector of 16 Ministries and more than 50 Statutory Boards. She has an amazing background, which equips her very well for such a significant task.

 

Peck Kem has the unique combination of experience from the Private for-profit and not-for-profit sector as well as the Public Sector.

 

Prior to joining the Public Service Division, Peck Kem was the Senior Director for Human Resources & Organisation Development at The Global Alliance for improved Nutrition (GAIN) based in Geneva. GAIN is a not-for-profit international organization driven by the vision of a world without malnutrition. A Swiss-based foundation, it was formed at the United Nations in 2002 and has 15 global offices.

 

Peck Kem was the Division Director of the National Human Resources Division in the Singapore Ministry of Manpower. She spent more than five years in this role helping to build Human Resources and Leadership capabilities in Singapore so as to profile the country as the global exemplar in human capital management and leadership development in Asia, for Asia.

 

Upon graduation with a degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Peck Kem started as a quality engineer, did a stint as a production manager before becoming a Vice President of Human Resources at various US Multinationals including Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies and Avago Technologies.

Leong Seng has more than 18 years of experience in the Real Estate Development and Management.

 

As the country head for Surbana Jurong (Myanmar), Leong Seng leads a team of 50 staffs providing consultancy services in the areas of Urban/Township Master Planning, Architecture, M&E and C&S Engineering, Quantity Surveyor, Infrastructure, Aviation, Project Management, Facility Management, Security and Building Management solutions.

 

Leong Seng also oversees the SMEC Myanmar operations (a member of Surbana Jurong), which provide infrastructure consultancy services such as Water & Wastewater Management, Power & Energy, Oil & Gas and Transportation solutions.

 

Headquartered in Singapore, Surbana Jurong Private Limited (SJ) is one of the largest Asia-based urban, industrial and infrastructure consulting firms. The company has a track record of over 50 years, and has built more than a million homes in Singapore, crafted master plans for more than 30 countries and developed over 50 industrial parks globally.

 

Prior to joining SJ, Leong Seng held various positions in companies such as CapitaLand, NTUC Choicehomes and UOL Group.  He also has business development experience in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. His accomplishments include leading a team to streamline processes for Project Quality Management system and clinching numerous design, green and sustainability awards for various development.

 

Leong Seng graduated form the National University of Singapore with an honours degree in Civil Engineering.
